Biwitech Showcases Retail Tech Innovation at ABASTUR Mexico 2025

Bringing U.S.-Born Retail Tech to Latin America’s Largest Hospitality Stage

Last Month, Biwitech had the honor of participating in ABASTUR 2025, Latin America’s largest hospitality trade show, held in Mexico City. Thanks to the invitation from our partner Quantum Dux, we were able to showcase our Quantum POS and scanner solutions to thousands of decision-makers from across the hospitality and retail ecosystem.

For us, this wasn’t just another exhibition. It was a powerful statement: Biwitech, born in the U.S. and designed for the most demanding markets, is expanding its presence across Latin America.

Why ABASTUR Matters

ABASTUR has become a benchmark event in Latin America. Organized by Informa Markets, it brings together:

  • 20,000+ qualified buyers and visitors from hotels, restaurants, catering companies, supermarkets, and more.
  • 400+ exhibitors showcasing the latest in hospitality, retail, and service technologies.
  • 28,000 m² of exhibition space filled with innovations that shape how businesses in the region operate.

It’s not just a tradeshow, it’s a hub where future-ready solutions meet real-world demand. For products like Biwitech, it’s the perfect environment to demonstrate innovation live, connect with potential partners, and measure how our technology resonates with a Latin American audience eager for modernization.

Quantum Dux: A Partnership That Amplifies Impact

Our presence at ABASTUR was made possible through our collaboration with Quantum Dux, a partner that shares our vision for transforming retail and hospitality with next-generation hardware and software.

Strategic partnerships like this are critical for scaling across regions. They help bridge the gap between U.S.-designed technology and local distribution and adoption. Quantum Dux has the market expertise, relationships, and platform to amplify Biwitech’s presence, and together, we created a booth experience that stood out at ABASTUR.

Live at the Booth: Quantum POS and Scanners in Action

One of the highlights of the event was the opportunity to showcase and interact with the technology. While software demos are critical, nothing replaces the moment when a retail executive scans a product and sees the transaction processed instantly.

Here’s what we showcased:

  • Biwitech Quantum POS:
    • Enterprise-grade processors that guarantee sub-2-second transactions, even during peak volume.
    • Reinforced thermal design for 24/7 uptime in crowded environments.
    • Seamless integration with Stellar POS.
  • Barcode Scanners:
    • Reliable, fast, and designed for frontline retail and hospitality use.
    • Proven durability in high-traffic stores and restaurants.

The feedback was immediate: decision-makers appreciated not only the speed and resilience but also the practical simplicity of the solutions. As one visitor put it, “This is what we need: tools that just work.”

The Strategic Context: Why Mexico, Why Now

Mexico is one of the most dynamic retail and hospitality markets in Latin America. According to Euromonitor, retail sales in Mexico are projected to surpass $350 billion by 2026, with significant growth in supermarkets, convenience stores, and quick-service restaurants.

At the same time, the hospitality industry, encompassing hotels, restaurants, and catering, is undergoing a rapid digital transformation, accelerated by post-pandemic consumer expectations. Operators are demanding faster transactions, better accuracy, and integrated customer experiences.

For Biwitech, showcasing our hardware at ABASTUR positioned us exactly where we want to be: at the intersection of hospitality and retail modernization.

Lessons Learned as a Product Leader

Every event is a learning opportunity. For me, ABASTUR reinforced three key lessons about building and scaling retail tech:

  1. Partnerships are multipliers. Without Quantum Dux, our participation would not have had the same reach. Partnerships amplify impact, especially in new markets.
  2. Hardware is still king. In an age dominated by AI headlines, what customers most appreciated was seeing scanners that worked flawlessly and POS systems that consistently functioned. Reliability builds trust.
  3. Latin America is ready. The appetite for modernization is strong. Customers want future-proof solutions that can grow with them, not just temporary fixes.

Expanding from the U.S. Into Latin America

What makes this moment so significant is not just that Biwitech attended an event. It’s that a solution designed and conceptualized in the U.S., the Quantum POS, is now being validated at Latin America’s largest hospitality forum.

This dual positioning is precisely what sets Biwitech apart:

  • U.S. credibility and design standards.
  • Latin American adaptability and expansion.

For partners, clients, and even award juries, this dual footprint demonstrates that Biwitech is not a local player but a regional innovator with global aspirations.

Looking Ahead

ABASTUR was just the beginning. From here, we plan to:

  • Expand our presence in Mexico and Central America.
  • Deepen partnerships with distributors like Quantum Dux.
  • Roll out case studies that demonstrate measurable ROI in both retail and hospitality.

The vision is clear: Biwitech will continue to design future-ready POS and scanning solutions from our U.S. base and scale them across Latin America.

Final Reflection

Standing at our booth in Mexico City, I felt a sense of pride and responsibility. Pride in seeing U.S.-born technology gaining traction in Latin America. Responsibility to keep building solutions that deliver not just innovation, but reliability, scalability, and trust.

For me, events like ABASTUR are not just about exposure, they’re about proving that Biwitech belongs on the same stage as the giants of retail technology.
